WORK Microwave at Powtech 2022 in Nuremberg

News, Pharma Sensors News, Press Release

Accurately detecting moisture, residual moisture, and mass or density in various non-conductive materials is essential to the pharmaceutical, food, packaging, and bulk solids  industries to ensure outstanding product quality, reduce waste, and save costs. At Powtech 2022, WORK Microwave, a leading developer and manufacturer of RF electronics technologies and products, will showcase how its leading sensor solutions use electromagnetic fields to characterize bulk solids, powders, and other non-conductive chemicals. WORK Microwave can customize and integrate these solutions for individual factory needs and automated processing applications.

WORK Microwave to Showcase Advances in Product Weight and Moisture Measurement at Powtech 2022

WORK Microwave solutions on display will include:

High-speed capsule and tablet weight measurement on the fly (youtube-video)

WORK Microwave’s WORKsens FT-96 Sensor high-speed, vibration-insensitive weight checker for compact capsules

WORKsens FT-96 Pharmaceuticals Weight Measurement Sensor Demos

At Powtech 2022, WORK Microwave will demonstrate its WORKsens FT-96 pharmaceuticals weight checker, optimized for the weight characterization of capsules and tablets in continuous production systems. A data acquisition platform attached to the sensor head permanently monitors the resonator head for changes in product properties. This allows the sensor to detect if pharmaceutical tablets are fully intact or exhibit defects, with the option to reject under- or overfilled capsules or cracked tablets.

The WORKSens FT-96 is a comprehensive solution for performing high-speed, vibration-insensitive weight checks on compact capsules, offering seamless integration in established production lines as well as the ability to harmonize with new digital Industry 4.0 concepts.

WORKsens CR — Contact Sensor Systems Demo

At Powtech 2022, WORK Microwave will highlight the accuracy of the CR Series in measuring moisture on the surface and in the volume of the product being tested as it nears the front of the sensor, rendering it superior to other techniques such as surface limited optical NIR measurement. WORKsens CR in-line bulk moisture measurement sensors and CR-10HP for moisture, gas, and solid content in high-pressure fluids will be presented. Both sensors are capable of measuring the moisture content of powders, granules fluids, and other non-conductive chemicals.

  • The WORKsens CR Series instantly measures the moisture in bulk solids and chemicals, allowing direct production process feedback, while requiring direct contact with the material being tested. The direct contact enables outstanding measurement accuracy in a variety of non-conductive materials.
  • WORKsens CR-10HP High-Pressure Moisture Measurement Sensor is optimized for measuring the water content in rough chemical synthesis processes in high-pressure environments up to 1000 bars. The CR-10HP moisture sensor offers high accuracy, speed, and repeatability, while being insensitive to most non-conductive additives. This accuracy is made possible by the exact characterization of a resonator and the load change on it induced by the material’s water content.

WORKsens Lab Series provides near real-time measurement speed

WORKsens Lab — Sensor System for Laboratory Usage

The WORKsens Lab Series measures water content in random bulk samples, ensuring that materials like oil, chemical powders, or non-conductive minerals meet their specific level of moisture with smooth production. Highly accurate and repeatable with automatic density compensation, this state-of-the-art sensor system provides near real-time measurement speed compared with the drying loss method.
