System Engineer (m/f/x) – Satellite Modems
 
 
As a motivated Systems Engineer, you will develop modern satellite communication systems and work in a multidisciplinary team on the design, integration, and validation of innovative satellite modem solutions. You will have the opportunity to grow both professionally and personally while contributing to cutting-edge technologies.

What you can expect in this role

  • Develop a comprehensive systems engineering understanding of our complex satellite modem products based on assigned tasks and projects
  • Take ownership of existing satellite modem products, new product developments, and research projects within the product group
  • Support the implementation and validation of industry standards such as DVB-S2, DVB-S2X, CCSDS, and other relevant satellite communication protocols
  • Investigate and resolve complex system-level issues by collaborating with RF, digital signal processing, software, and hardware engineering teams
  • Coordinate the development and integration of hardware, FPGA, firmware, and software components required for satellite modem functionality
  • Provide technical expertise during customer engagements, supporting pre-sales activities, requirements engineering, system customization, technical reviews, and acceptance testing
  • Create and maintain high-quality system specifications, interface control documents (ICDs), verification plans, test reports, and technical documentation throughout the product lifecycle

What you need to be successful in this role

  • A Master's degree in electrical engineering, communications or information technology 
  • At least 5 years of hands-on experience in the development of professional satellite modem technology or related communication technologies
  • Experience in satellite communication systems, particularly satellite modem technologies, is highly desirable. Practical knowledge in system integration, verification, validation, or operational deployment is considered a strong advantage
  • Solid understanding of IP networking and familiarity with standards such as DVB-S2X, DVB-RCS2, CCSDS
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional engineering teams You have experience with system-technical interrelationships of complex products
  • Good understanding of interfaces between hardware, FPGA, embedded software, and application software in embedded communication systems. Expertise in one or more of these disciplines is an advantage.
  • Know-how in digital communication theory, waveform design, modulation and coding techniques, synchronization, and communication protocols. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in German (B1 and more) and English
